The Angel Building by AHMM was nomitated for the 2011 RIBA Stirling Prize and featured in the BBC's Culture Show coverage of the Awards. Over three days ScanLAB captured the exterior, roof terraces, internal floors and atrium space creating a series of animations which explain the building key features and the history of the structure.
Located on corner site where City Road and St John Street, the building is a considered and intelligent retrofit of a worn out 80's concrete building. The original concrete structure was found to be over engineered, allowing AHMM to re-organise the interior spaces, increase the usable footprint and create a dynamic series of communal spaces at the heart of the building.
